The Ontario Geological Survey, Mines and Minerals Division, provides basic geological information gathering and interpretation in support of Ontario’s exploration, mine development and mining sectors. It collects, analyzes and publishes valuable information about the state of the mining and mineral industries, as well as specific information about the location and quality of mineral deposits. Field staff provide consultative services to the industry through all phases of the mining sequence, and include resident geologists, mining recorders and mineral development officers.
