Each fall, hunters from the small coastal communities of Baffin Island search the surrounding ocean for whales in order to provide their communities with food and fuel for the winter. At the same time, the community recognizes the need to preserve and protect this precious resource. This program explores how a combination of science and traditional knowledge is being used to ensure the continued health of Baffin Island whale populations.
